According to local media, the uniformed shot and killed several people at his military base, after which he stole a vehicle and headed to the Terminal 21 shopping center of the city of Nakhon Ratchasima, in the central region of the country, where he opened fire on several people
Some information indicates that the man has taken "at least 10 hostages" and has entrenched himself on the fourth floor of the mall.

The killer, identified as Jakrapanth Thomma, transmitted the assault to the mall through Facebook Live and also uploaded a 'selfi' in which he appears with a rifle in his hands. Soon after, the attacker's Facebook page was disconnected.
