Coronavirus: Spain surpasses China in number of deaths and is the second country with more victims after Italy


The Ministry of Health of Spain gives a daily conference to report new cases.

Spain is already the second country in the world with the most fatalities due to the coronavirus after Italy. The Spanish Ministry of Health confirmed this Wednesday that the number of deceased amounts to 3,434, after 738 deaths were registered in the last 24 hours.

Spain: - Spain is already the second country in the world with the most fatalities due to the coronavirus after Italy.
The Spanish Ministry of Health confirmed this Wednesday that the number of deceased amounts to 3,434, after 738 deaths were registered in the last 24 hours.
In total, the positive cases of coronavirus in Spain total 47,610, of which more than 3,100 are in intensive care.
The Ministry also reported that 5,367 people have already recovered from covid-19.
The most affected region is Madrid, where 1,825 people died from coronavirus, 53% of those who died across the country.

This increase in the number of deaths occurs on the eleventh day of an unprecedented quarantine in Spain.
So far, the country with the most deaths is Italy, with at least 6,820 deaths. In China, where the epidemic originated, the death toll is 3,285.

Alarm status of Covid-19

Spain declared on March 14 a state of alarm, under which people will only be allowed to leave their homes in special circumstances, to go to work or buy food and medicine.
All retail trade in the country was suspended, with the exception of those dedicated to selling basic necessities.
Sports facilities, museums, bars and restaurants, catering services are also closed, with the exception of those that operate through home deliveries.
The Government has requested to extend this state of alarm until at least April 11, something that will have to be approved by Parliament.
