Almost 1.4 million infected and 80,000 deaths from the coronavirus

The Covid-19 coronavirus has caused at least 80,142 deaths worldwide since it appeared last December, according to a data based on official sources issued this Tuesday at 6:00 pm, Paris time. In the last 24 hours, the countries that registered the most deaths were the United States with 1,632 new deaths, France (1,417) and the United Kingdom (786).

News Update:  The Covid-19 coronavirus has caused at least 80,142 deaths worldwide since it appeared last December, according to a data based on official sources issued this Tuesday at 6:00 pm, Paris time.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 1,397,180 cases of contagion were recorded in 192 countries or territories.
The number of positive diagnosed cases, however, only reflects a part of the total number of infections due to the different policies of the different countries to diagnose the cases, some only do it with those people who need hospitalization. The authorities consider that so far, at least 257,100 people have been cured of the disease.
Since yesterday at 6:00 pm, there were 6,959 new deaths and 86,374 infections worldwide.

In the last 24 hours, the countries that registered the most deaths were the United States with 1,632 new deaths, France (1,417) and the United Kingdom (786).

The death toll in Italy, which recorded its first death linked to the virus in late February, stands at 17,127 deaths. The country registered 135,586 infections. Since Monday, 604 deaths and 3,039 new infections were registered. The Italian authorities consider that 24,392 people were healed.
After Italy, the most affected countries are Spain with 13,798 deaths and 140,510 cases, the United States with 12,021 deaths (383,256 cases), France with 10,328 deaths (109,069 cases), and the United Kingdom with 6,159 deaths (55,242 cases).
Mainland China (not counting Hong Kong and Macao), where the epidemic broke out in late December, has a total of 81,740 infected people, of whom 3,331 died and 77,167 were completely healed. In the last 24 hours there have been 32 new cases and no deaths.
In number of cases, the United States is the most affected country with 383,256 officially diagnosed contaminations, including 12,021 deaths and 20,191 healed.
As of Monday at 6:00 pm Malawi, Madagascar and Benin announced the first deaths linked to the new coronavirus. São Tomé and Príncipe also diagnosed its first cases.
On Tuesday at 6:00 pm and since the beginning of the epidemic, Europe totaled 57,351 deaths (735,781 infections), the United States and Canada 12,419 (401,067), Asia 4,332 (123,742), the Middle East 4,091 (83,033), Latin America and the Caribbean 1,373 (36,317), Africa 522 (10,247), and Oceania 54 (6,997).
This balance was made using data from the national authorities collected by the media and with information from the World Health Organization (WHO).
