Nigerian Bishop refused to lock down his Church due to Coronavirus
Nigeria: - Anglican Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma expressed his concern about the lockdown process for the coronavirus.
The church says it will not shut down the church but will recommend to reduce church attendance at the same time.
He says it belongs to God, which means to shut the door to blessings and grace. And the people need to go and pray to God. He also added that when the Israelites once had this kind of situation in the old, they prayed to God and He answered them.
‘For us to combat this coronavirus pandemic we should observed social distance, stay at home and always wash our hands’ He said
On the contrary a bishop in another part of Nigeria opposed bishop Chukwma. The former Bishop of Diocese Mbaise in Imo state said he supported the government's plan to stop people from assembling in church.
Bishop BJE Ogu said the church should help the government in their efforts to eradicate coronavirus.
Now, the question remains; who among them is right? Who should the people follow?
However, at this moment, the government have not reacted to any of the statements.
