Paris News Update: - The new coronavirus has caused at least 3,000 deaths in Latin America and the Caribbean, the vast majority in Brazil, the country most affected in the region by the pandemic, according to an official information.
On Tuesday at 4:00 (Paris locals) the region officially counted 3,001 deaths spread over 30 countries, reported Ugobleno News.

According to official figures, a total of 70,193 people tested positive for Covid-19.

Brazil is the most affected country. Since the first case of the new coronavirus was officially declared in late February, it has recorded 1,328 officially announced deaths. The total number of infections reaches 23,340 cases.
In Ecuador, where the hospital system collapsed due to the spread of the virus, according to the same report, 355 people died according to the last number released on April 13, but authorities consider the death of 424 people to be "probable".
On Sunday, the authorities removed 771 corpses from homes and 631 from the crowded hospital morgues, without specifying at the moment the causes of those deaths. The total number of infections in Ecuador officially amounts to 7,529.
Brazil and Ecuador are followed by Mexico, with 332 deaths from 5,014 infections, Peru (216 from 9,784), the Dominican Republic (177 from 3,167), Colombia (112 from 2,852), Argentina (98 from 2,277), Panama (94 from 3,472) , and Chile (92 of 7,917).
The number of deaths declared by this pandemic worldwide is at least 121,839 people for more than 1.9 million people officially infected in 193 countries and territories, since the virus appeared in China in late December.
The number of positive diagnosed cases of covid-19 only reflects a part of the total number of infections due to the different policies of the countries to diagnose the cases. Some only do it with those people who need a hospital stay.
Authorities believe that so far at least 411,500 people have been cured of the disease.
This balance was made using data from the national authorities compiled by the Ugobleno News offices and with information from the World Health Organization (WHO).
